Hi, everyone!

My name is Fiona and I am a theatrical rigger and stagehand in the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees.

I've worked on and around stages since I was a theatre major in High School in all types of venues and on all types of shows...only on IATSE shows do I make the most money and feel the safest. Also, my union encouraged me to show up in my truth in a world that doesn't necessarily want me to...without question and in solidarity so I can work my trade that I love and support my family.

I recently worked with the leaders of my local chapter to create a Pride Committee and have been invited to join the local chapter of AFL-CIO Pride @ Work Council. 

As someone who has spent literally their entire career having to excel to be accepted, I have found that as a transgender laborer my struggles have only intensified and I see the same happening to my peers. I say enough is enough and it's high time we had the seat at the table we're due. So, I've heeded the call and am stepping up to be the change. We're going to find a constructive way forward, together...but we're also going to stand against hate in solidarity.
